The famous Violin Concerto No. 1 by the 19th-century "Wizard of the Violin" Henryk Wieniawski combines the folksy and melancholic sounds of his Polish homeland with the Parisian elegance and lightness prevalent at the time. Wieniawski composed this virtuoso concerto in 1853 at just 18 years old.
