Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Flute Concerto in D major

Antonín Dvořák: Suite “From the New World”
Michael Kofler - Soloflute Munich Philharmonics & Residenz-Solisten
An evening of elegance, rich tonal colours and poetic moods awaits visitors in the historic Allerheiligen-Hofkirche. In the warm glow of candlelight, music of breathtaking beauty unfolds, capturing the magic of the Baroque and Classical eras as well as the emotional heights of Romanticism. Michael Kofler, a flautist of international renown, together with the Residenz Soloists, guides the audience through a programme that brings the diversity of the European musical tradition to life in radiant colours of sound.
Antonio Vivaldi’s “Spring” from The Four Seasons opens the concert with sparkling lightness. Each phrase seems to paint the awakening of nature – singing birds, murmuring streams and gentle spring storms come vividly to life through the playful dialogue of the strings.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 2 in D major follows with subtle elegance. The clarity of the melodies, the graceful shaping of the themes and the harmonious balance between solo flute and ensemble create an incomparable intimacy within the Hofkirche. Michael Kofler interprets the work with lightness and sensitivity, allowing every motif, every breath of the music to be heard and drawing the listener into a dialogue between history, sound and space.
Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 brings vitality, tension and compositional brilliance to the historic hall. Even in this early work, one senses the energy and innovative spirit of the young composer: melodic beauty meets rhythmic drama, harmonic turns meet orchestral power. The symphony fills the space with life, captivates the ear and already hints at Beethoven’s later greatness.
The crowning finale is Antonín Dvořák’s From the New World Suite. Vast landscapes, deep emotions and rhythmic vitality open a musical journey across continents. At times dance-like, at times full of longing, the work tells a story of departure, discovery and home all at once.
