Imperial hall of the Munich Residence
Festkonzert im Kaisersaal
The imperial hall of the Munich residence forms the frame for a festive concert evening with champagne receipt. This hall of the Renaissance was built at the beginning of the 17th century for high ceremonial occasions of the Wittelsbacher noble house.
The hall always was also a place for festive music. When the king's pair of Naples made station on the 4th of November, 1790 in Munich, they saw a concert led by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The exact programme is not received, Mozart even in the pianoforte probably played one of his both "coronation concerts for piano and orchestra KV 459 or KV 527". It was his last Munich visit. A year later Mozart died in Vienna. Today the imperial hall is used by the Bavarian state government for big receipts.
